Description: A celtic sterling silver large sized circular bowl in the shape of a quaich, with applied celtic zoomorphic border on rim and foot. The bowl sits on a circular rim, the handles are supported by cast scrolling arms, also with celtic knots. The bowl is extremely good quality and gauge, and is nicely proportioned. The celtic design is very intricate, with mythical beasts clearly visible, and celtic knots. The hallmarks are clear for Birmingham 1939, the makers mark is partially struck but still identifiable as Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, this mark was in use between 1930 and 1959. This bowl could be used as a rose or fruit bowl.
