Description: A set of 6 silver and enamel teaspoons, with 6 different coloured enamel roses, made in 1976 to commemorate the "Year of the Rose", and the 100 year anniversary of the RNRS (Royal National Rose Society). The back of each spoon reads "Year of the Rose RNRS 1976" on a stippled background. The spoons are perfectly preserved in their original box, which reads "By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen, Suppliers of Gold and Silver Laces, Insignia and Embroidery, Toye, Kenning & Spencer Ltd London", under the Royal coat of arms. The hallmarks are clear on all 6 spoons. Each individual spoon weighs over 20 grammes, these are good quality spoons, very suitable for use. The Royal National Rose Society is not only the world's oldest specialist plant society but the foremost global authority on the cultivation and care of the rose. Toye & Co was founded in 1685, they still hold a Royal warrant, they recently produced the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medals.
